The Rue: Deb Norman's Stimulus

Valentine Love Story Contest Winner

Love Story for Two: We selected a dimly lit end booth for a romantic touch. My anxiety was racing but I could not let her know. The small hinged box that I brought along was safely out of sight. Just the context of "Rue De L'Espoir" combined with "Hope" Street seemed like a sure thing to set the stage. To me those words gave it more meaning. Half way through enjoying our great meal my nerves were getting the best of me. Expecting to be prompt up by a shot of courage from what turned out to be an unexpectedly long men's room visit, only met with surprise. As I returned to the table she said, "I'm worried, is everything all right?" My quick and calming response put her at ease. But I wasn't. Somehow, my expression turned to a smile, I looked into her hazel eyes, the small box appeared, and the words came out. I love you, Will you Marry me? Yes! Yes! I will marry you, she said. Now why did the men's room visit take so long? It seemed like seconds to me, but I guess I wanted my proposal to be just right, complete with nerves and anxiety. The romance of the Rue worked for us. We were married a short time later. On September 12, 2008 I surprised my wife with a "10 year anniversary" dinner at our favorite Rue booth, the very place where I proposed. The dimly lit end booth now has a new decor, but the butterflies and tender excitement can still be felt. Jane and Steven Pilz

Rue De L'Espoir has gone green. Deb Norman says that after reading how the restaurant industry contributes greatly to our rapidly dwindling eco footprint, she has decided to make Rue De L"Espoir a green restaurant. The Rue now uses renewable electric energy, solar energy to preheat the hot water, water saving devices in the sinks and water efficient toilets. She is also very proud of the new waterless urinal. That's right, waterless! The Rue also uses organic meats and chicken and sustainable produce whenever possible. So now, not only can you get a great meal at The Rue, but you can do it with a eco-friendly conscience.
