Ambience

"The American restaurant is never merely a place to eat. It is a place to go, to see, to experience, to hang out in, to seduce in and to be seduced," writes John Mariani.

This favorite quote of Deborah Norman's about the way a restaurant should look and feel points explicitly
to The Rue's ambience.
"It's casual, it's friendly, it's neighborhood."

The Rue serves breakfast, lunch and dinner 7 days a week.

They transform their terra cotta tables after breakfast and lunch and cover them during the dinner hour with white linen for a authentic bistro experience.

Both breakfast and lunch meals are frequented for business and pleasure alike.
The professional service is fast,
efficient and friendly.

Reservations for larger parties are suggested to ensure quick seating and service.

In this fast paced world of never having enough time, The Rue wants to make sure that your needs and requests are well
taken care of.

The Rue's bar clientele consists of professionals,
academics, artists, and neighborhood folks who come in after work to enjoy a cocktail and bite to eat.
Low-key background jazz helps create a
cool, casual atmosphere

Lending an authentic "rue" feeling to the bar area is a wall-to-wall mural (below) of a French street scene from the early 1900s, which Deb commissioned
a RISD grad to paint.
